Encountering Danger

People are not impenetrable to dangerous forces. There are times in life when our encounters with danger are isolated and minimal; there are also times when danger is repetitious and threatens to swallow us whole.

In those isolated moments, it is a generally undemanding encounter, and we may continue on our pathway with some semblance of facile and contentedness. Through the repetition of danger, we receive multiple threats, which creates a susceptibility to becoming perturbed by giving into subjective reactivity, at an individual or collective level, as opposed to viewing the state of affairs in an objective manner.

The repetitive nature of dangerous events is, in many cases, what leads to crises. When one is in crisis, it isn't easy to see beyond the immediacy of the situation. Giving into subjective reactivity means making one susceptible to external ideology instead of allowing one's heart, spirit, and mind to lead the way.

While the repetition of danger provides great difficulty, one's sincerity, despite the hazards, can detect the meaning of any form of suffering. It is only through understanding the meaning of the circumstances can one then, with meticulousness, gain command of the issues and move onward.

If one does not take action, one risks falling victim to the circumstances. This most generally occurs when one labels themselves as the victim as opposed to an outsider providing the label.

Should you push to avoid jeopardy altogether or attempt to flee it right away, then you risk being swallowed by it in the future. It's worth stating that it may be useful, given the difficulty, to challenge one's ego by self-reflection or communicating with someone where the foundations of trust in the relationship run deep. Other people can serve as great models as far as adopting problem-solving capabilities.

Your survival of peril has a strong connotation for any future encounters with misfortune. It has the ability to remind one of their capability to maneuver through incidences where there is seemingly an utter lack of control. In addition, it will put you in a position of leadership as you are now aware that in order for goodness to prevail, it has to start from within you.

It can be of great service to oneself to find patience in misfortune and be satisfied with small wins. If one is unable even to observe the tiny gains, then the building blocks of resentment and hatred become manifest.

Do not allow your personality to become rigid. Exercise flexibility while remaining true to your values so that new solutions can be put to trial. Being innovative in personal change can have a broader individual and societal implication for new prosocial realities.
